As part of its international expansion and control of the quality of its technical services in pig production, COOPERL wish to complement the existing production team. We are currently looking for full-time production unit manager to participate and oversee production project abroad. (China, Russia…)

Position description:
The position is to efficiently lead a team that delivers improved breeding stock within the constraints of the operating budget for large sow farrow to full finish environmentally controlled farm.

The ideal candidate for this role should have:
Skills required:
• Excellent leadership and strong communication skills
• BS in Animal Science, Agriculture business or related degree
• A detailed knowledge and proven track record of practical experience in modern pig breeding, pig production and selection of breeding stock
• At least 3 years’ experience in pig production
• Proven organizational and leadership skills
• Team oriented person that is able to communicate with subordinates and superiors
• Demonstrated ability to educate and train staff
• Able to speak and write French will be a plus
• Knowledge of COOPERL health program, (will be train)
• Be self-motivated, enthusiastic and with a passion for pig production

Responsibilities include:
• Supervise best production practices such as animal welfare, nutrient management, environmental, health and safety policies are implemented
• Cost effectively implement and coordinate processes with technical management team that maximize the rate of genetic improvement and delivery of genetic value
• Prepare an operating budget being accountable to meeting its targets
• Implement farm health program
• Accurate record-keeping and reporting using specialize software as the record system
• Develop good departmental co-operation with all departments within the farm
• KPI (Keys Performances Indicators) monitoring and reporting.
• Feed and supply ordering, inventory reporting and control.
• Enforce company policies both within the farm and with outside support staff and vendors
• Staff development and discipline in conjunction with HR
• Provide maintenance priorities and direction with focus on preventative maintenance
