pigs and snake bites

I am a writer. I need to know whether a pig's skin around the shoulders is generally tough enough to stop a snake from sinking its fangs into it.

    Adult large white boar bitten once on the right shoulder by a puff adder, he was stone dead when I found him, that was 1974, that is the only confirmed snakebite I have witnessed.

    The trick is to calm down the pig long enough for you to suck the posion out!

    they must be awfully good at stalking them. I thought snakes were quicker than any animal....
